Blue Duck Station is a working sheep and beef station which also encompasses tourism, conservation projects and activities, making it a sustainable business in the middle of nowhere! Blue Duck Lodge is a private lodge and is situated in a clearing above the banks of the Retaruke River, 8 kilometres before the station cafe, and looks out onto breathtaking views of native bush. Frontier Lodge named after the first settlers in the valley has 3 en-suite rooms, each with their own entrance. It also has a shared kitchen/living area and spacious deck. A range of activities are available including tramping, horse trekking, bush safaris, jet boating, kayaking and guided hunting. All can be arranged directly with the station.
