This charming hotel, which is known as the Jewel of the Rockies, sits on a 5 hectare peninsula overlooking the Emerald Lake in Yoho National Park. It is just 20 minutes from Lake Louise and 40 minutes from Kicking Horse/Golden. The town centre is just a 12-minute drive away. Guests are surrounded by water and a landscape so beautiful it will leave them breathless.
The historic lodge, which was refurbished in 2007, remains the heart of the resort. It comprises a total of 85 rooms located in cabins which surround the main lodge, some of which overlook the lake. Built with hand-hewn timber and featuring massive stone fireplaces, the charming hotel offers a formal dining room, quiet reading and sitting rooms, conference facilities and a games room. The lounge is enhanced by an oak bar salvaged from an 1890's Yukon saloon. The views from the upper or lower large verandas are breath-taking. As in the past, this hotel proudly welcomes those in search of the extraordinary. Further facilities in the hotel include a lobby with 24-hour reception and check-out service, a cloakroom, café, bar, restaurant, Internet access and a car park.
Each room features a wood-burning fireplace, a private balcony, down duvets and a peacefulness which comes from having no televisions in the room. They also come with an en suite bathroom, hairdryer, direct dial telephone, radio, tea/coffee maker, ironing facilities, double bed and individually adjustable heating.
There are numerous hiking trails in the area. During the summer season guests can rent canoes on the lake. In the winter season it is possible to rent snow shoes and cross country skies, as well as go skating on the lake. Guests can also enjoy the hot tub, the sauna and the gym.
A continental breakfast buffet is offered in the mornings. Lunch and dinner can be chosen à la carte or from the set menu.
