The hotel is located in the Welgevonden Private Game Reserve, Limpopo province, a malaria-free reserve which stretches over 36,000 hectares. It is home to the 'Big Five' and numerous antelope species. Bird watching in and around the lodge is excellent and this is also the area with the largest concentration of leopard in the reserve. It is a mere 3 hours' drive by either private vehicle or by arranged road transfers from OR Tambo International Airport (some 280 km) or 2.5 hours from Lanseria International Airport; a vehicle will pick up guests who arrive at either the main gate or western airstrip and transport them to the lodge.The lodge is designed with sophisticated elegance in all its interior and exteriors. Its interior has a classic, ethnic feel. Each piece is hand-picked and the special attention to detail gives it its unique atmosphere. Guests have a choice of eight luxuriously furnished suites. The air-conditioned establishment features a lobby, hotel safe, bar, dining room, conference facilities and a laundry service.All the luxurious guest rooms have a private Victorian bathroom with a separate toilet, inside and outside shower (in an enclosed area), double wash basin and a bath, as well as a minibar and private patio. All the suites are equipped with air conditioning. Further standard amenities include a double bed, direct dial telephone, satellite/cable TV, safe and tea and coffee making facilities.Guests may take a refreshing dip in the outdoor swimming pool, work out in the gym and relax with a massage or spa treatment.Dining at the lodge is a festive experience which includes breakfast, lunch and dinner. The dining experience alters between formal sit down dinners in the main lounge area, romantic dinners in the wine cellar (on request) and starlight Boma dinners which offer traditional South African cuisine as well as other gourmet dishes.
